Skeena Residence

This UBC new residence is located in the Okanagan Campus with occupancy August 2020. This beautiful 220 bed project by Pubic Architecture and Communication is designed with Passive House Certification in mind.

AEspaces worked with Public to work on the FF&E of this building. The spaces consisted of 220 beds, two common areas in each floor, a multipurpose room, student common spaces on the ground floor and a lobby. Ana worked together with UBC Properties Trust and UBC Okanagan to create a welcoming space for their students while working with a tight budget and in the middle of a pandemic. Cost savings were achieved by working in collaboration with UBC Properties, having a deep knowledge of products available, being able to award the project to multiple vendors and from promptly substituting product and finishes that became unavailable due to the pandemic without compromising quality.

All specification materials are Green Guard Certified and all came with extended warranties. The finish spaces provide a fun flexible stylish relaxed feel that students will surely enjoy. Ana made sure to go through every single room, flipping every single mattress to ensure all installed furniture was up to the highest standards.
